Original Apple-1 #82 (#41 in the registry) is alive and kicking... as usual!

Hi all,

after a couple of years travelling the world, through exhibitions (VCFW 2019), adventurous travels and pandemics, we finally managed to re-check the computer and turn it back on once again!

Not only that, we were also able to play some game (for testing purposes, of course..!), read teletext news in real time and even chat with a good friend of us who was using... an IMSAI 8080. :-)

Institutional video [English]:

Original board details:

IMSAI 8080 (sorry for the background noise):

Enjoy! :-)

Claudio

Hi p-lab!

Thanks for sharing, great video and all very interesting!

I wanted to ask you as an expert who deals with original boards. I took a close look at yours and the other boards in this link last night. I am interested in the differences between the NTI boards and the ByteShop boards. Besides Signetics chips instead of Fairchild, and green 0.1uf capacitors instead of disk brown ones, I saw that the second version used Bourns metal trimmer resistor instead of Spectrol pot trim and 22uf yellow capacitors instead of blue. Maybe I did not notice all the differences between ByteShop and NTI boards?

Thanks in advance!

Hi Micha, thanks! :-)Yes,

Hi Micha, thanks! :-)

Yes, actually there is not any official video about that specific IMSAI connecting to our BBS. yet... (blame the lazy owner!!!)

The video I posted was taken during a public event for which we prepared that Wargames demo, for that specific machine equipped with a VTI.

BTW, Here you can find the real IMSAI I restored (not mine, a joint project with the owner of the IMSAI of the previus video) telnetting to the same BBS.

(Fast Forward to ~1' when bored...)

And here there are two pics of the screens, one comes from the Apple-1, the second from the IMSAI... :-D :-D :-D

The chat was not 'prepared' nor 'scheduled' at all... when we realized that the Wi-Fi modem was working as expected we tried to contact some friend, and we succeeded.

:-)

Thanks for sharing.Always

Thanks for sharing.

Always nice to see one more Apple-1 is still working.

Hopefully we can meet one day (again) and have an exhibition of Apple-1 computers (Cecilia asked me today).
