Greetings everyone!
I wanted to give you all a heads-up on where HoneyCrisp Emulator is headed. v1.5, planned for November, will be the last major release of the current version. After that, 1.x moves into maintenance, meaning occasional bug-fix updates (1.5.1, 1.5.2, etc.) as needed, but no meaningfully new features.
My schedule has gotten a lot busier, and I’ve been putting more time into game projects after my game SPACE PARANOIDS (based on a game from the film TRON) went viral, so I want to close out 1.x with a solid, polished release and move on.
What v1.5 will include as of now...This list may change before release:- Minor bug fixes
- New Program Library Applications
- An emulation layer for the "GT-6144 video adaptor from Southwest technologies" as suggested by Egon Rath
If there’s a bug you’ve been meaning to report, now’s a great time. I’ll fix what I can before release.
What’s next: I’m planning HoneyCrisp Emulator II for sometime next year, and that’s where my time will go. Until then, keep reporting bugs in this thread (or on GitHub at https://github.com/landonjsmith/honeycrisp ) and I’ll address them in point releases when I can. If there’s anything you’d love to see in II, post it here too. I’ll be keeping a list.
Thanks to everyone who’s tested, reported bugs, and shared what you’ve gotten running, especially:
- Bobby Nijssen
- Uncle Bernie
- Jeff Jetton
- Egon Rath
. You’ve definitely helped in making HoneyCrisp much better than it would have been otherwise.
In the meantime, I’m deep in work on SPACE PARANOIDS if you want to follow along: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OUXj4w4nze0
Thanks,
Landon
