Apple ][ Europlus - Update - IT LIVES

10,000 thank you's to those on here (especially Amauget) who responded to my constant questions as I tried to get this machine to work. The final exercise was to extract all of the memory chips, replace row C with new chips from an Atari 16k card from ebay (sorry to the Atari), flicked the switch and it beeped for the first time in many years. No more hot ram and screen full of lines of characters, it was back to life (other than some lazy keys which seem to be resurrecting).

Just need to figure out which memory chips were bad and smash them with something heavy and blunt.

Getting it working means onwards to the Superserial card, ADTpro and see what else can be done. Actually, looking at the bench I had better see if the 80 column card will work also......

If you are trying to fix one of these, keep going, even I managed to fix one..

Atomtan,

It just goes to show what the power of positive thought and a lot of extra parts can accomplish. lol

I have a spare cards / parts box sitting next to my work bench with cards that may (or may not) be operable, but they are there just the same. You never know. Smile

It's always a pleasure to help someone to enter (or to go back to) the Apple II world.
