I'm after an Apple II crystal (NTSC) i having trouble finding one in the UK. I'm converting my PAL machine to NTSC and the best i can get i washed out pale colours...14,3181 MHz

If you are getting colors at all, that means the receiver is locking on the color burst, so your frequency is most likely within margin and your problem is probably elsewhere.
best crystal I have found for the purpose is:

Vishay Crystals
14.31818MHz series
Unfortunately they are no longer in production. Best source might be a scrap A2 motherboard that was configured for NTSC. If you are absolutely stuck, drop me a direct email, and I may be able to help you.
