Apple IIc FD Faceplate Removal for RetroBrite Process

Hi,

I got my first AIIc.  It is pretty easy to take apart and clean up.

But the FD faceplate does not want to release. This is after I have removed the FD from the case and took it's top cover off.

It has 4 flathead screws on the sides. 2 go into metal and they come out normally.

But the other 2 go into the black plastic disk guides. They just spin when I attempt to unscrew them.

What is the trick to removing these screws?

The FD white plastic is really yellow and should be retro-brited.

Whatever help the comunity could provide would be most appreciated

Thanks

The ones with the black

The ones with the black plastic guides, the threaded part gave up on the black side, so you take. Thin screwdriver from the inside and push it to stop the thread to stop moving, then unscrew.

Hope this helps.
