Apple ][+ top adhesive/glue/tape ???

I often have A]['s where that black connection tab at the left/right rear of the top come off.
The Velcro like connection between the two black halves is usually quite strong.
So I need something stronger to hold one of the black halves to the beige case.
I have tried automotive 3M 2-sided tape. It lasts about 3 pulls before it will not stick. typical superglue will not stick to the black side.
What do some of you use?
I'm sure this have been asked and answered before in here. But I do not know the right names for this part to do a good search.
Thanks

I'm not sure exactly what

I'm not sure exactly what kind of 3M automotive tape that you are using, but I've used generic branded tape intended to hold trim on automobiles with great success. Works far better than contact cement. The original attachment method was also two sided tape. Before applying, I cleaned the old tape and adhesive completely off both the enclosure and the dual lock type fasteners, which isn't easy.

I'm also using a double sided

I'm also using a double sided tape advertised for holding on auto trim. In my case it's a 3M advertised as permanent. Like Mike I clean off all old residue. I don't know if it's necessary but I also put a piece of extra fine sandpaper on a flat surface and rub the fastener on it a bit. My thought is that that insures that it's flatter and glossy surfaces usually don't bond as well. So far none have come off.

Thanks everyone. Much

Thanks everyone. Much appreciated!
I did not get the 'permanent' tape. I thought that too extreme. But I'll give it a try on one A2+ and see. I like the sand paper idea. It would give the tape something extra to grip.
Again thanks!
