Ok I was recently given a wonderful Apple IIGS system so I dug out my CFFA3000 and proceeded to set it up.
I do not have a CF Type I card reader on my macbook or PC, so I copied the GSOS 6.0.4 disk images to a FAT formatted USB drive, plunked it all together and booted slot #7 to the assigned "smartport" disk image.
My problem boils down to basically this:
I can boot off of the images on the USB no problem at all - in fact it will even let me boot a virtual 32MB GSOS 6.0.4 hard disk image from the USB with no problems (CFFA3000 is in slot 7, with the appropriate jumper set)
I can boot off of the real IIGS 3.5" and 5.25" floppy drives
I can boot off of the virtual Disk II (assigned to slot 6) on the CFFA3000 card
But I CANNOT figure out a way to install a bootable OS to the CF Type I card.
I have 1 32MB partition created via CFFA3000 menu, which I even wrote a new MBR for (using the menu)
If I reboot after doing this, it tries to boot the new partition which is empty of course.
If I boot off of the floppies (Installer or (System Disk) it see's the CF Type I card partition and says its unrecognizable - and allows me to initialize it but it wont let me load the GSOS onto that new partition...
I have researched and researched and even done searches here, but I cannot figure out what I am doing wrong. Anybody have a clue how to install GSOS 6.0.4 onto the CF Type I card itself??
