So I was fixing my last broken Apple /// System and after the Ram board was ironed out I realized the Keyboard was acting flakey. Turns out the Keyboard Controller 341-0035 at location H-14 was faulty. I swapped in a working chip from another Apple /// and it tested fine so I know the IC is dead. Here is the thing though, the Chip in the socket that is faulty (70% of the keys pressed come out wrong) is a KR3600-085 and is not labeled 341-0035 like my working chip. Isnt the KR3600 the same controller in the Apple II plus? Did someone in the past try the wrong controller chip on this board or are they interchangeable?
If they are interchangeable, where can I find a replacement? I thought the KR3600 ICs were unobtainium at this point.
I am pretty sure at this point this board must have the wrong kb encoder in it.
Apparently the same chip/pinout, but programmed with a different keyboard mapping - so they are not interchangeable...

This site seems to state its interchangeable with the IIe and IIC: https://wiki.reactivemicro.com/Apple_Chip_Designations
It also lists a second part number of 342-0035 , but I take it that is not correct? well I hope someone comes up with a replacement soon as all the orginals are ticking time bombs and nothing lasts forever.
Have you checked this out?
Hey thanks Jeff!
