Is there a utility I can use to move all my os 10.2 stuff (iTunes, address book, iPhoto, etc) onto a 10.4 system while the two HDDs are in the same computer? (i.e. without firewire?)

The Migration Utility in 10.4.x (located in [your hard drive]/Applications/Utilities) can migrate from "another Mac" or "another volume on this computer." Give it a shot.
