Best LCD screen...

Let's talk about cannibalizing dead laptops for a minute...

I need an LCD that can be run off of VGA and has a diagonal no greater than 14.5 inches. I would like 1024x on the resolution but could settle for 800x.

My iBook (clamshell 300MHz) is now dead but I do not know if this LCD can be driven by a VGA output. If so, then I have what I need (except for the resolution).

Can someone throw a few ideas out here on what may be a good source for an LCD screen and if my iBook screen comes close?

TIA

I'm pretty sure that LCD's that will natively run off of VGA are extremely rare if not nonexistent.

Your best bet might be prowling ebay for point-of-sale monitors like these.
Any hints on why you have a size restriction?

Ahhh...

...this is cool and I had not thought about it like that - the touch screen makes it more worth what I want.

As for a hint, I do not want to jinx it - I just have a few ideas I wanted to try and have two decent iBook (clamshell) LCDs on hand. The POS stuff looks more appropriate and the prices are not to intimidating (since I need to stay close to free or trade fodder). If I ever get there, I will post pics.
