C64 Disk Transfer

I might purchase a Commodore 64 but I'm not sure that I'll get any games or software in the sale. Is there a serial transfer method I can use like one can do with the Apple II and ADT Pro to make 5.25" floppy disks. Or another relatively cheap method of transferring games and software to the C64.

C64 Disk Transfer...

Kisho,

Check out eBay. On any given day they have a bunch of C64 software (both 5.25" disk and cartridge) for auction. I just picked up some myself, even though I haven't brought out my machine to refurbish it yet. I figure when I'm finally done I'll have the software sitting there to use.

Good luck. Smile

As a person who owns 250 blan

As a person who owns 250 blank 5.25" floppy disks, and has pretty much unlimited storage on my desktop PC. I like the fact that that I can transfer data between the new and the old at will. I know there is a similar solution out there for C64, I just don't know what it is.

Still not sure if I want to get the C64 that is sold locally. It seams over priced. If I pass on, it's good information for when I decide to get one or when I come across a bargain one.

X1541

It's called the X1541 Serial cable.

Look around on the good old interwebs. Theres a reasonable bit of info out there on it.
