Ibook mouse/speaker cover bezel

Ok, me being foolish was cleaning my top bezel of the case with nail polish remover. I bumped the bottle and it got all over the table and so i had to clean that up. i left the cotton ball i was using on top of the case for a couple of seconds and it ate the paint! so now, should i buy a new top bezel or should i use this opportunity to turn my ibook into a one of a kind piece of art? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I painted one of my "cpu housings" as apple calls that piece.... make sure to sand and prime and not go too thick with the paint... also either remove the speakers first or mask nice even circles around them... same with the trackpad/button/power button as well.

It isn't difficult... but it takes time and is VERY fragile when reassembling and when removing again. Mine chipped when I had to take it apart at a later date. However, those parts are only about $5 on eBay... just make sure to REALLY check them out when you get it... the last one I bought had a broken latching magnet. Ruined any chance of me using it.. and I didn't realize this until AFTER a 2 week paint job.
