need ideas

thanks to the lack of a firmware update i know have a semi fried SLiMac and i want to do something with it cause its a shame to let it go to waste. im thinkin i should do something with an iApple][

Even with the lack of a firmw

Even with the lack of a firmware update, you should be able to boot an OS 8.6/9.0 CD on it, upgrade that to 9.1, then run the update. From there you can then go to OS X quite easily.
