For all intents and purposes, yes. It's not a military-grade, all-the-data-is-gone-forever format, but when you RAID two drives, it formats them in a way so that it's pretty hard to get the data back.
... that this is one of those "will it be a bad thing if I do this?" type question, and not an "oh no! What did I just do?" question. Cuz if it's the latter, your data is pretty much hosed.
