ibook G3 500 superdrive swap

HI...guys
I have ibook g3 500 with tray loading cd-rom drive...(not a clamshell)
I like to swap my drive to slot loading superdrive.....
Do you guys think it's possible to do that?
I heard slot loading drive will not fit on the ibook with tray loading style....
