Hi All,
I keep getting this in applefritter.... (See left of pick)
Are the question marks some new type of add? I was almost tempted to click on it...
Anyway, sorry about the terrible picture quality, but I wanted to keep it small for 56k and below users.
T
Ack! I spelt "Pic" with a K. Yuck.
The add takes me to http://www.jmdp.or.jp/?as_grant
And it says "公共サービス広告" by Google at the bottem. I've know this machine has no ad-ware or viruses (or is the plurar viri?)
The machine is running the k-meleon web-browser and a fully patched version of Windows 2003.
Edit: Sorry all, just saw the same post in the applefritter design forum (where i intended to post this topic)
The question marks you see are just because you don't have that particular asian language package installed... It is displaying the google ads in japanese(i believe). I have seen the problem on two different machines, on safari and IE. It may be a module problem in drupal, or it could be an issue with google itself.
I don't know if the problem is being investigated/remedied, but it's somewhat annoying isn't it?

And you keep spelling ad with a second d:
... and bottom with an -em.
The question marks you're seeing are Japanese characters on my OS X setup. Your Windows machine likely doesn't have the Japanese character display capability (or at least, configuration) that OS X does.
Best,
Matt
My spelling is getting worse and worse, ever since I got the A* at GCSE in English. The lack of practise is showing, as i'm only doing science subjects now.
Well at least I didn't write it like this:
Yup, your correct. I removed all other character support files when I installed Windows with n-lite. The OS is perfectly capable of displaying those characters on a standard (bloated) install, but in order to get windows to take up less than 450mb of space I had to remove some files...which I had since forgotten about.
