I am in need of the hyperdrive software that came with the upgrade. The software for formatting and using the hard drive.
The hyperdrive was a hard drive upgrade for the 512k Macintosh. There are a few models. One with 10MB, another with 20MB, and a third which upgrades the processor from 8 to 12MHz, adds a math co-processor, 2MB of ram, and a hard drive controller!
The strange thing is, this is not a SCSI upgrade. This upgrade uses drives called MFM by many, but really called ST506. Old IBM XTs used those hard drives.
I have the 2MB model with hard disk and a hard disk only upgrade. I have no hard drives that came with the computers, but I do have old compatible (I hope) hard drives.
Any information would be much appreatiated!!!
I found what might be what I'm looking for on that mac driver museum...
GCC Technology
HyperDrive Driver v3r2 - Driver for the Original Mac HD!
Drive Manager v7.0 - Driver for GCC Ultradrive. System 7.0 Compatible.
It will be interesting to see if the Mac works with one of my old IBM XT drives.
The GCC HyperDrive mechanism is NOT an ST-506. How do I know? Because the ST-506 was a 5MB hard drive. HyperDrives from GCC were either 10MB or 20MB in size.

Here is more info on the 20MB Hyperdrive, including a photo:
