HD size limitation with G4 Digital Audio?

Hello,

I'm getting a G4 Digital Audio soon. Do they have the same HD GB limitation as the Sawtooth G4s' 140GB? This was actually 120GB because from what I've read no manufacturer really made 140GB's. The jump was 120GB then 160GB.

Thanks.

Yes.

The DA can only use a hard drive as big as 128GB (formatted, 137GB using manufacturer's propagandized sizing) without resorting to a second ATA/133 or SATA controller. Larger hard drives can be placed in external FireWire or USB cases with appropriate bridgeboards that can handle 48bit LBA and address drives bigger than 128GB.

Peace,
Drew
