Apple II

Welcome to 1977...

Was looking to let off some "steam" from all the chores I was doing today...

Woz's original Integer Basic breakout on cassette sounded good... (BTW: Runs so much faster than the Microsoft derived AppleSoft version called Little Brick Out).

ADT question about using audio vs serial

Besides bootstrapping which you sometimes can't avoid,

How bad is ADT (not pro client, but for DOS 3.3) when sending disk images over the audio ports vs using a Super Serial card?

It's a heck of a lot easier and cheaper to run audio cable between my Apple II area and my Mac which sits on my desk then it is to run 25ft of serial cable.

Buggie

I don't know if any of you have bought anything off of Buggie4vrl on ebay. He is the one that makes the Buggie power supplies, and I'm sure you all have heard of him. I have made a couple of purchases from him on ebay, and he is the greatest. If you ever think of buying from him, don't hesitate. He is great. Good, honest, ebay seller. That is a rarity these days.

Apple ][e and Printer

I inherited an Apple ][e from my Father. It had power supply issues and once I removed the mainboard connector, tested the power supply, and reattached, it started working (corrosion on connectors?). Now working, Yea!

My Father was a prolific writer of his life experiences. All on 5.25 floppies! I'd like to get the stories off the floppies, it looked like the most practical method would be to print them off and scan to pdf files or ocr.

The printer involved is a Transtar 120 daisywheel for which I have no documentation. Knowing the control codes would be a plus.

Memory expansion on a //e ?

What is the most amount of RAM memory I can put into a //e machine, and how would I go about it? I'm not interested in IIgs, just the //e.

RGB Card hard-wired to Motherboard

Hi,

My latest acquisition, a ][e from '84 has a RGB Card that has 3 wires soldered on 1 side onto 3 lined-up and clearly labelled contacts on the card and soldered onto pins of what looks like C65 and C57, but I could be wrong on those labels.

I have attached pictures of the card and motherboard.

Has anybody got an idea why that would have been done. I am guessing the RGB card didn't need such kind of surgery to work.

Many thanks!
