Apple II

Any Apple /// users here ?

Are there any Apple /// users here ?

I'm looking for any application/utility/misc software. I already have what's publicly available from Asimov and a few other places - which is not much at all.

Any help appreciated.

Softdisk Collection?

Hi all!

I have a question on Softdisk. Does anyone have the complete collection in image format or on CD? I have a CD from the owners of Loadstar which was the Commodore 64 equivalent. Actually, I beleive Loadstar spun off from Softdisk. Anyhow, I'd like to find the complete collection of Softdisk images if possible. Please let me know.

Thanks
John

Apple IIe Platinum and dual disk drive question

Hi everyone!

I'm excited as my A2E Platinum just came in today. This is my first Apple IIe system, so I am very excited to be using it. Smile I'm a classic computer collector and love to be able to go back and experience what I missed first time around. Smile

How can I create Apple IIGS diskettes directly from a PC running Windows XP?

Not long ago I purchased a IIgs...then a keyboard...then a mouse...and finally, just yesterday, both a 5.25" and 3.5" drive...

Now I need to get extracted SHK files (e.g. "system6Dk1.SHK" extracted to "Install" via NuLib) onto a 3.5" diskette that I can boot to on the IIgs.

I've looked all over Asimov's ftp directories, but can't seem to find anything that does exactly this.

Man, oh man, if anyone can help me with this I would be most appreciative (to say the very least).

Thanks all,
Mark

Apple II on Podcast

First, I want to say thanks to all the people on here who helped my get my Apple II up and running, and w/ configuring ADT, etc.

A couple of friends and I have a podcast that covers both modern and retro gaming topic. Due to the great time I have been having redisovering the Apple II, we devoted an hour of our latest show to a discussion of how many of the design features, etc. of the Apple II were driven by video games (Breakout, etc.).

If anyone is interested, please check it out.

Apple IIe Original vs Apple IIe Platinum?

Hi everyone.

I'm knew to the Apple IIe world, and wanted to ask the following question. What is the difference between the original Apple IIe and the Platinum? I know about the keypad, but other than that are there any differences and will all the add-on boards, software, etc... work in a Platinum that works in the original system?

Thanks

Help me identify this disk controller

Picture: http://img205.imageshack.us/img205/7306/unknownappliedengineeringvtech.jpg

I found this card in an Apple ][E. It seems to be a floppy disk controller, but I have no idea what kind. The firmware ROM says it was made by Applied Engineering, but the silkscreen on the board says Vtech. Anyone have more info on this thing? I'm curious as to whether or not it can handle high-density drives (since it appears to be new enough for that).
