Apple IIe - LCD screen displays only B&W

My Apple IIe works in color with my HD TV,  but I can't tie up the family room with projects, so I dug out an old Philips PD9012 NTSC/PAL car DVD player which has a second detachable screen. The second screen displays color when connected to the DVD player. But when connected to the Apple IIe, this second screen only displays black & white, as well as incorrect aspect ratio. Is there a way to get color out of this particular device? (I'd be interested in correcting the aspect ratio, but I'm less concerned with that.)Thanks for any advice!

I Found what looks like an IWM Disk II Controller Prototype on eBay.

Hi Everyone,

I just wanted to share what I found mixed in with a bunch of blank prototype boards.  It's not the Disk II IWM card. At least not the one I have seen a photo of. This does almost look like a mirror image of that card.  It says "AIIE Controller"  deosn't have a part number, so I am guessing this was some kind of prototype card that never was.  I have a collection of blank PCBs from Apple, but not one like this until now.

If anyone here on AF has any more info about it, let me know.  I am going to post it on facebook too.

[IIe Platinum] Getting started?

Hey all,

Newcomer here. Do we have a section for getting started?

I've just acquired a IIe platinum with a 655-0101 (Uni/Duo) disk controller and an 80COL/64k expansion card (quite the find!) and while I am already having a blast typing up little programs and games in AppleSoft BASIC as my dad used to, I'm here for any and all suggestion on anything and everything a seasoned fan would have on their to do list.

A new IIgs 4MB RAM card?

During a recent browse on eBay I stumbled upon a 4MB RAM card for the IIgs I was unaware of: The GW4201A by a company called Garret's Workshop.

Has anyone bought this card? The price of $35 is very interesting, compared to the $60+ for similar cards.
