IIc boot issues

I just picked up a IIc. ROM 255. When you power it on, you get a changing pattern:

Apple 3.5 inch Unidisk Drive Analog Card Schematic/Repair Advice?

So I have two Apple 3.5 inch Unidisk drives. One works fine, but the eject motor doesn't push the disc out all the way, but I can live with that. The other won't work at all. When I connect it to my //e, and inert a boot disc, the light flashes, then nothing. I've tracked the issue to the analog card in the drive, as when I swapped the drive itself between the two, the failure remained with the defective board.

designspark

Out of interest, does anyone have a link to a PCB layout for designspark (or other KiCad maybe) for an Apple II card ?

 

Suprising, but I cant find one to download, so will have to make one from scratch, but im sure someone has done it before and would appreciate saving the work if its not too cheeky :)

Slots wont work

 I have been getting my spare motherboard up and running over the last few weeks using an old ATX PSU and an arduino to interface a PS/2 keyboard.

Faults so far have been a failed 6502 (address bus all at 3.3V) and one 4116 ram chip (output stuck high) and now the board starts up and works fine. Ran a basic memory test and that looks good, can save and load programs . Loaded and ran galaxians from a wav file through the cassette interface so it cant have much wrong with it.

IIgs image formats

Anyone know the image format(s) used by DeskMaker for the IIgs? Photoshop (CC version on a modern Mac) seems to be able to convert to most any format, but image size, specific format, etc. seem to be eluding me... I know to RTFM, but where's the manual for this stuff these days?

System Saver: Is it needed?

My enhanced Apple //e came with a System Saver cooling fan / surge protector... but I’m wondering if it’s necessary. The ][ was designed to keep cool, and I only have a Disk ][ card and SSC installed in the slots. Is it safe to remove the fan, or do I risk over-heating?

Apple II+ won't boot...displays numbers instead

Hey guys...

Once again, I seek your wisdom.

I have reseated every chip, and replaced a whole bunch of corroded / blackened chips in a II+, and I'm still basically where I started. 

Power ON

<BEEP>

APPLE II shows up on the top of the screen

DRIVE 0 (in slot 6) starts booting as it does, that reset sound it makes, and then it sounds like it's loading, and just when it starts to load...

...a string of numbers from 5 through 9 prints in a column on the screen (with an occasional 8F in there)...

...and then it stops.

Help with reassembling an Apple IIe

I inherited a disassembled Apple IIe. After a few repairs, I'm almost done reassembling it, save for two problems: 1) The long springy metal strip that makes a connection with the removable lid is not attached to the case. (I believe it's a grounding strip.) I see the scratches in the lid, but I simply can't work out where the strip goes.
