Apple IIc US to European power?

Hello all,

I'm looking for suggestions on how best to power a US Apple IIc (110-120v 60hz) computer when in Poland which uses 230v 50hz.  I know they make step down transformers for this purpose, but the frequency would still be 50hz rather than 60hz and that could be a problem.  So what is the best way to power this machine in Europe?

Thanks!

Videx Videoterm

I'm in the market for a Videx Videoterm 80 column card with the old mechanical switchplate for an Apple II.  There are a couple boards on ebay, but neither has any cabling.

I could certianly make my own cable if I know the schematic of the switchplate assembly.  I assume it is just a basic switch, but it is not clear which of the 4 wires is being switched.  If anyone knows anyting about this, I'd love to hear.

I'd prefer to get an authentic switchplate though.  Does anyone have one to sell?

Apple ii not Working / Dead needs your help

Hey Guys,

I recently bought an Apple ii, it doesnt work, no beep, no video.

Ive already checked the voltages on the peripheral card slots, they were wrong.

It obviously had been repaired before with jumpers.(Photos included in the PDF)

I reseated every chip and checked the continuity on all jumpers, but it didnt work.

Thanks in advance for your help, Denis

Debugging Apple IIc: no beep, no nothing

Hi Folks,

I have an Apple IIc that worked briefly before quitting. Now I get nothing: it starts up, I get a green power light and the drive spins, but nothing more. I'd love to get this running again. (I posted about this a few years back, but gave it up after a while, and just decided to pick this up again.)

So far, I have:

Telnet with A2OSX

With A2OSX ( https://github.com/burniouf/A2osX ) you get a great Telnet client if you use the Uthernet Card! You can type as fast as you like and no letters get lost! Made a perfectly working connection to A 80's Apple II BBS!

Heuristics SpeechLab Voice Recognition

I just recently acquired a Heuristics SpeechLab Voice Recognition model 20A card for the Apple II along with the microphone for it. I am trying to find any user manual or documentation and perhaps software for the card. This is the model 20A, the first one for the Apple II, it is not the H2000 or the S100 bus versions of the card. I messaged someone who posted about this a couple years ago, but no reply from Keatah. All help is appreciated.

CFFA3000 questions for a IIGS

My CFFA3000 came in the mail last night, but I've got questions, since I can't get anything to load. I watched the YouTube video "CFFA3000 Quick Start - First Setup Steps" and did everything as followed, but perhaps it's different because it wasn't a IIGS that was used in the video. So here's what I have so that you know my setup:

1) The IIGS is ROM 01, with a 1 mb RAM card (soon to be 4mb when it arrives).

Appe IIe Enhanced old fire damage

Hello all,

I just got a IIe Enhanced, the one with the numeric keypad on the side, 2 matchign 5.25 drives, and a monitor.

It was smoke damaged happendd  a long time ago. It has been sitting a long time in storage. The person I get it from did some minor cleaning out side. They also booted it and it still works! But the black soot seems to have gone into the plastic color. It can't be wipped off now.

Strange behavior of the color killer on Apple II plus

The color Killer is working strangely on my machine....

when the machine looks "idle" it's working I have a black and white screen

but as soon as I use the floppy disk  (for example command:  "catalog")

the caracters are colored with strange patterns mostly blueish / redish...

when the floppy stops I get back the black and white

I slighlty reduced the value of the resistor, the problem partly disappereared

but still exist while using the floppy disk
