New Apple II 'Zine doing a "Soft Open."

So I'm announcing a "soft open" to a web project I've been considering doing for a few months, but actually started over the holiday break: a new 'Zine which has Apple II product reviews and feature articles, among other topics. Please feel free to visit "Old Tech - New Tech Magazine" at http://www.oldtechnewtech.com/ and of course, Like us on Facebook. If you read the "About" page, you'll see that I'm actually qualified to do this. Cheers!

The goal is to post something once or twice a month. (Fingers crossed.)

Apple Roots

I have just finished translating a copy of
Apple Roots: Assembly language programming for the Apple IIe & IIc by Mark Andrews.

This is a really good book that explains concepts clearly and also gives
examples of how they are used. If anyoneone wants a copy of this
PM me of what books you have on the Apple (in digital real, PDF format, etc)
and we can do an exchange.

I have also translated Programmer's Guide to DOS, which I have
not seen anywhere. I am willing to do the same for that also.

IIGS Serial Cable Help

This may seem like an odd request but I'm going to ask the question anyway. I'm looking to make a straight through cable for my IIGS that mirrors the same functional pinout of the SSC (in Modem mode) but with Mini DIN 8 to DB9 (Male). Does anyone have any information on what pins I need to write on the Din 8 and DB9 side?

Finding Chips with the Correct Date Code - Apple II

I'm trying to restore an early Apple II. Unfortunately, someone tried a shot gun repair, and replaced most of the chips with ones from an Apple II+. I need chips with a date code from 1978. Are there Apple II cards that contain chips that are common on the Apple II motherboard? Any help would be appreciated.
