Anyone know the part number for the language card's dip connector (with the plugs)

I have an Apple OEM language card that I think has a bad cable. I want to change the cable and the connector but want it to be "original" looking. The dip connector at the end of the ribbon cable has plugs to make sure it can only insert one way. I'm looking for a source, I have the ribbon cable already. I know I can pry the original apart, but I'd like a spare...

Thanks,
Corey

Anyone seen or have an Apple II S/N 40,000-60,000?

Hi all,

I've never seen an original Apple II with an A2S1 serial number within the 40,000 - 60,000 range.

I know that the late 30,000s still used the original style black/white serial number stickers, and units 60,000+ used the later red/white ones.

But was there a gap in the serial numbers? If you have evidence of a system in between, please share!

Thanks,
Howie

Dot Matrix Ink for Apple Imagewriter

Does anyone know of a supplier for dot-matrix (USA) ink in bulk quantity (pint or quart)?

It use to be that you could go to a computer show and buy a pint of dot-matrix ink for $5.00 to re-ink your ribbons. I guess those days are gone like the 6809 and 6502.

THANKS.

Apple II (pre-plus) Sale discussions.

We seem to have mutated the Apple II Rev 0 eBay thread into more of a general Apple II for sale on eBay (who knows maybe if we left it alone we have some Craigslist stuff added)

Lets use this thread to discuss sightings and putchases of Apple II, non plus machines, for sale. It will make it easier for people searching the old messages in the future to find a single thread with information.

How many Apple II rev.0 were made

The number 6000 is bounced around a lot as being how many original Apple II rev.0 systems were made between June 1977 and mid-1978 before the switch was made to rev.1 motherboards. But I've never read anyone confirm the accuracy of this number. I understand 6000 is specifically referenced in a service manual, but it is unclear whether that context refers to system serial number or that of the motherboard itself, as from the very start there was a gap between the motherboard serial numbers and the A2S1-XXXX system serial number on the outer case.

When did ProDos start supporting directories

I don't want to change the processor on my Apple II, but want to use folders with the CFFA3000 to organize my images.

Since I can't change to a 65c02, I'm limited to the earliest releases.

Thanks,
Corey
