Apple //c - Oregon Trail Strangeness

I recently purchased an Apple //c as-is. With a little bit of elbow grease and a new power supply, it is chugging along good as new. I've played a few games on it so far and all have worked fine except Oregon Trail.

The game loads and gets to the main menu. I have four numbered options and the program awaits my input. However, none of the number keys seem to work. I press 1 through 4 and the cursor will blink as if a key has been pressed, but no value appears.

I've tested all the keys and they all work fine in any other program.

What's up with the crazy Apple II prices on eBay?

I may be living under a rock, but I see prices of Apple II systems going over $800, while a II plus or IIe are still in the $200s. Any ideas?

Question about ProDOS 2.0

OK, so I've got ADTPro (marvelous program!) working and am happily transferring stuff from my Hackintosh to my //e.

I saw that one of the operating systems available on ftp.apple.asimov.net is ProDOS 2.0, so I created a floppy from the "ProDOS_2_0_3.dsk" and booted from it.

Well, it is ProDOS, but that's all-- just the base OS, without the utility program ("Startup") that comes with earlier ProDOS versions.

Also, I noticed many versions of ProDOS as .SHK files. I found a Mac program that will decompress them, but they're not disk images; merely bare system files.

Apple ][ Forever! My Introduction

Hey All!,

My name is Darren Crawford I am 39 years old and I am a HUGE fan of the Apple ][,
infact my first computer back in 1984 was A Apple //e Clone (a Apco) over the last 4 years I a have begun collecting machines off
ebay and the such, and discovered ADTPro and have managed to get the entire asimov archive back on 5 1/4 floppies that i have also
aquired on ebay.

Can you nice folks point me in the right direction for more Apple ][ goodness? I already know about ADTPro, Applefritter (of course) and the Apple 2 use group.
Is there a official IRC channel? heck is there a way to get the APPLE ][ On IRC? how about a twitter client for the ][ now that would be interesting.
I don't have a ether/utherclient card cause i have not found any for sale yet. I am also on the CF3000 waiting list.
I am going to be launching my own Apple ][ Everything website in the near future.
Is there anyway easy way to feed a //e's composite out into a vga LCD monitor? I have tried to feed it into my composite capture card (hauugage 950q) with horrifying
results. ( wavy video), I would really like to get this clunky commodore 1702 monitor off my desk and replace it with a lcd.
Anyhow... cheers all..

What //es came with enhancement?

OK, so I understand that there are "standard" //e computers and "enhanced" //e computers. The latter have 65C02 processors and upgraded ROMs and video that add a variety of nice feature, the one of which I like the best is being able to type lower case BASIC commands.

The "junk" //e I have is a beige numeric-keypad version. The motherboard has two 64x4 RAM chips. It has the enhancements.

Anyone have a PDF for a RamEx 16k Language Card...

I have one of these cards and I love the fact you don't need to remove a chip and have a cable to the ram area of the motherboard, however I can find any documentation anywhere on the net. I can find pictures, but I really want to find a PDF of the manual.

Thanks,
Corey
