3.5" HD floppys

I am currently using 1.4mb HD floppy disks, leftovers from the pc, formatted as 800k ProDOS disks. Any problem doing this ? They seem to init ok. I seem to remember reading sometime in the past, this could lead to data loss. Any validity ?

Can ADTPro work with the old Apple II Serial Card (as opposed to the "Super" Serial Card)

Do I need both the Coms and Serial functionality?
If so, can you point me to a sight which will walk me through the card switch settings (most of the youtube instructional videos are based on the SSC)
Thanks

Infocom games

I am playing Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy (cracked dsk image version)
The disk boots fine and it says I am in a dark room with my head spinning on the welcome screen...
but whatever command I type ("look", "turn on the light" etc), gives me a page full of a blank screen with "more" at the bottom.
Any key that is pressed results in the disk spinning and more blank screen.

What Eprom Burner for the PC do you guys recomend?

What EPROM Burner do you guys recomend for the PC? One that can handle the old 2716 & 2732 EPROMS? And ofcourse handle all the new stuff? One that has a nice and easy software package , that can be used on Windows XP? And ofcourse , if possible , be able to connect to a PC via USB 2.0?

Thanks again!

Patrick.

Disk I/O error when using the CATALOG command

The catalog command gives me an I/O error when I use "CATALOG D2" or "CATALOG D1" or "CATALOG"
I have 2 disk drives, one of which is "brand new" and has been tested by an expert on another system.
The other disk drive is also functional but has not been tested by an expert, it only boot up disks fine (most of the time)
The disk ][ controller is old but seems to work fine when used with a single disk. I have only recently used it with two disks

Apple II Eprom Writer - Ap-64E

I have a Ap-64e Eprom Writer... It's been quite awhile since I have burned any eproms , so I am trying to get back into using them again. I have a Disk with eprom files on it , they are in Binary form. I'm not exactly sure what address to BLOAD them into memory , so I can put in the starting address that the card asks for? It's possible that I have bad eproms , 2716 , because of the check error that occures after burning. I have some on the eraser at the present time and will try again.

ADTPro and USB

Currently, ADTPro is working directly into a serial port on an old Windows XP machine. Works like a charm. I would like to retire the computer and use ADTPro with my desktop machine which, of course, has no serial ports. Run to Fry's Elec and buy an AirLink USB Serial Adapter. Install the driver, configure ADTPro for com 3 (that's where the com port shows up in Device manager), 115,000 b/s, 8 data, no parity, 1 stop, no flow control.

Turn off the firewall and anti-virus on the XP machine.

No changes to the gs.
