What is the function of the level adjustment potentiometer on an Apple ][ motherboard

It says it can be adjusted from zero volt peak to 1 volt peak.
When would I need to adjust this?

Apple IIgs color video

Just received my 'new' Apple IIgs and it works great. Except .... It's got a monochrome monitor and I sure would like color. Any easy ways ? Possible to connect a LCD monitor ? I'll be looking for an Apple II rgb but who knows it that will happen.

The Apple ][ in movies and popular culture

The other evening while watching The Thing (1978) I noticed an Apple ][ in one of the scenes (the main hero is playing chess on the computer in an Antartica lab)

I am curious: what other movies has the Apple ][ appeared in?

What early joystick do you recommend for an Apple ][?

What were some of the early (but good) joysticks used in Apple II originals? What card/adaptor do I need to connect this to my computer?

Apple II power light won't come on; computer works fine otherwise

The power bulb under the power key on my Apple II (original 1978 with raised power key) will not glow on. The computer powers on and operates fine otherwise, loads a game from Disk ][ etc. Light bulbs on a language card glow fine. Beeps from speaker fine.

I removed the bulb, but as it is very small cannot tell for sure if it is fused. I have a replacement bulb (slightly larger size but I am told a genuine Apple II replacement part) which when I mechanically connected it to the power key copper output contacts (no soldering) also would not glow.

dsk to floppy

Just bought a IIgs, should be here in a week or so. I've been using AppleWin but decided the real thing should be more fun. Anyhow, I would like to create some floppy's using some of the dsk images. Is there a way to do this ? TIA

Memory Cpmpatibilty for IIgs Board 670-0025-A

I've got a IIgs w/ROM1 and with a memory expansion board in the slot. Part# of apple card is 670-0025-A. Bank (0?) memory chips were soldered directly to the board and the remaining 3 banks had empty sockets.

All was working well until I wanted to play an old game (Shadow Gate by Icom) and the system reported out of memory. So, I went on e-bay to purchase what I thought was the correct type of memory chips. The 16-pin DIPs I purchased read:

GS I23W Korea
GM71256- 12

What vintage TV or color monitor would you match with a vintage Apple II?

Of the 70s and early 80s TVs what ones are appropriate for an Apple II?
I am aware that all you need is a composite video input and NTSC.
In my case space is a premium, but I really dont want to stick a flat screen over my pride and joy! You know what I mean.
I also want and need color.

Am thinking of using a portable 1972 Sony Trinitron KV-9000U which I may be able to get for cheap.
Anyone who is familiar with this, know if it has a composite video input?

What about the rare, expensive and bulky Apple ColorMonitor IIe?
