Alternate solution to digital copies of manuals

Hi all:

Like my computers, I am old school and like to hold paper versions of manuals and documents.  But, as we all experience, the cost of adding to our vintage collections keeps rising and rising (like the cost of everything else).

I have started printing a lot of the digital versions of various manuals and books, but many are WAY more pages than is cost effective to print at home on an ink jet.  I also hate stapled documents if its a reference book or I'm adding it to a collection of books.

Flyback Transformers for CRTs

Hi all:

Does anyone know of a good source, outside the standard eBay, to find flyback transformers for old CRTs?  I need to replace one in an Amdek 300A.

Thanks,

Mark

Weird 80 Column Switching Behaviour

I'm hoping someone can help me with the weird behaviour of the below clone 80 Column card on my Apple II+. This card has onboard switching, and a pass through for the composite output of the Apple II motherboard. But when I enter the command PR#3, the cursor disappears, but the output doesn't switch.

cc65 users: printtok.c updated!

Hi!  I just updated my printtok.c cc65 C module online.  It is now much smaller in object size and adds an option to use zeropage to store two of its variables.  I also bettered its extended memory support but still didn't test this support.  :(   The compression techniques didn't change, though.  You can find it at c65 additions - Manage /ui at SourceForge.net.  Try it out!

Apple II+ Vertical Lines

Hello all,

I recently inherited an Apple II+ (RFI rev), and it seems to boot fine, but it has some serious vertical lines on the video output. I've been troubleshooting to the best of my ability, and have had no luck whatsoever getting it to work.

Things I've done so far:

IIgs video out put suddenly not centered vertically

Yesterday I was using my IIgs and around the time of a reboot, I noticed horizontal lines looking like a comb at the top of my screen (I later found out this is called "folding over" in CRT terms.  i used the vertical size adjustment on the monitor to get rid of them, but then noticed I was left with an image where things looked squished vertically, and the image seemed to be off center.  There was a larger blue border at the bottom than top.

Someone help me with this.... Sup'r'Switcher

For some reason I was looking back through sold items on ebay and came across this apple II plus which the seller says was owned by his uncle who worked for NASA in the 80's and 90's. What caught my eye was the "third" drive case which turns out is a power supply? That's the best I can tell, but I wasn't able to find details through my sup'r'crappy search skills so I though I'd ask here.

Win98/Apple2 disk handling again

Hi!  I am working on stuffing a new Win98SE computer and want to hook it up for my work, including programming.  I still have a Zip disk with cc65 on it and want to update it to a new version.  Now, a while ago, I asked here about a command-line utility that runs under Windows 98 abnd got an answer, but I don't remember the nams and can't find the thread.  I tried several search requests but couldn't find it.  :)  IIRC, I did download it.  Can somebody here give me the name of the program, so I can search for it in my Downloads folder?  Thanks.

Apple Monitor II recently stopped working

I've had my original apple iie and Monitor II since I was a teenager.  Its been working great all these years until the other day a friend asked about it and I booted it up. The computer sounded fine but the monitor display was having issues.  I finally got it to display after tweaking the knobs and then shut it down. Now I tried to use it again and the power light is on the monitor but I do not see any video being displayed. I tried adjusting brightness and contrast but do not see any image.
