Apple ][+_ Working but showing horizontal bars

Hi,

I got an AII+ that appears to be working. It seems to boot, and I can type and see moveemnt on screen.

It is just the main board with only 16K installed. No cards

But there are horzontal bars inplace of charaters.

I have a working AII+ next to this one. I have swapped EVERY chip between them. The working AII+ still words fime.  The broaken one still  shows horzonal bars.

Virtual ][ (II/II+/IIe emulator for Mac) beginner issue

I'm considering purchasing a license for the (Mac OSX-based) Virtual ][ emulator as it appears to be easy and straightforward to use (as an Apple ][+) and most of it is self explanetory, but I'm having a problem getting the 80-column autoswitch function to work:

Smarterm ][ 80 Column Video Card Manual

Does anyone remeber how to use the ALS Smarterm 80 column card? I have searched for any information and come up empty. A friend gave me an Apple][+ with 64k memory 2 disk drives and the video card but I can't figure out how to get into 80 column mode. Any help or links to a manual or site would be appreciated.

copying DOS-Master image

Hi All,

Many years ago I created a DOS Master 1.7 image for use with my CFFA (Not CFFA3000) card. The initial setup of the image was done by Vince Briel, but I extended it to contain 100 DOS 3.3 games, and changed the splash screen to be all caps for those with ][ or ][+ machines. It took me quite some time to collate everything, as you can imagine. However, in the end my disk image was somehow 64mb in size, and not the standard 32mb partition size. I think I maybe made a mistake somewhere along the way, possibly with Ciderpress.

Removing the AMP power connector from the power supply wires

Is there an easy way or a special tool like they have molex
Pins to remove the wires from the AMP power connector on an Apple II supply? I have to transplant the connector from one supply to another and don’t want to break anything.

Thanks,
Corey

Apple II+ @@xx still showing after much much testing

Hello,

I have an AII+ that boots to a @@xx  repeating vertical bar screen. The computer is currently in a 16K, no card, config I think is best for testing. I pulled the other 2 top rows of ram, and the additional 16K card.

I have tested the PSU output and some continuity with a multimeter under load  doing:

-------

RESET on 6502 pin 40 should always be 5V while the machine's running. Clock on pin 37 (phi2) should be around 2V.

Voltage-wise check for:

5V pin 8 65025V pin 24 ROMs5V pin 1 411612V pin 8 4116-5V pin 9 4116

Apple II+ SN74194N vs 74LS194

I have a broaken, right at the casing too close to solder, leg SN74194N and I do not have any extras. Can I use a 74LS194? I can get a few at a store about 1/2hr away for $2. Or the only sn74194s's I can find are expensive or come from europe and take weeks to get here. Or is there another option?

Thanks
