Apple /// external drives problem

I have 2 x external floppydrives. If I connect any of them all is fine and they come up as drive 2 and pass tests etc.

If I "chain"-connect either of them I get odd results. One drive comes up as drive 4 and the other one doesn't even come up as drive 2 or 3 in that scenario. Also, when accessing the floppydrive both motors and LEDs starts/lits up.

Anyone who's seen this or similar problems when using more than one external floppydrive?

Thanks!

Original Merlin

Hi, new forum member here. I'm looking to see if anyone can shed some light on which version of Merlin to use on Virtual ][. I'm preparing to buy an Apple //e for real and want to ramp up to programming on it via Virtual ][. I have found several version of the assembler and don't really know how to compare them - they all kind of look the same to me :). I watched this video:

WTB Apple Monitor /// CRT PCB

So I have a monitor /// with a good CRT but I need a CRT Board /Analogue board to repair it. The one that came with it was physically broken and damaged (it was stabbed, dont ask.) I just need the board. And if you have them the transformer assembly included. If you have a dead monitor /// and want to part it out please get in touch! Thanks.

Did IIgs games only come on 3.5"?

Hey Folks,

Now I have a IIgs I was looking around for games. I noticed all the dedicated IIgs games I could easily find were in 800k disk format. Am I correct in thinking all IIgs games were issues in 800k format?

I have a BMOW FloppyEmu on the way, so this issue will be moot, but at the moment I'm limited to 5¼ disks (DuoDisk) so I guess no Apple IIgs games for me :-)

WTB Apple /// Internal floppy drive Flapper/Lever

one of my Apple III internal floppy drives lever/flapper has crumbled to bits. IT was broken and I glued it but its unsalvageable. The internal drive is different from the external Apple III mechanism as it has an angled faceplate and elongated flapper. I know this makes it pretty hard to come by. I am hoping someone has parts or at least a drive they are willing to sell. Please let me know.

Kim's Hyperion 512 CRASHES

I acquired as Hyperion 512K card from a third party, made by Kim a while back. Yesterday was the first day that I tried to use it, in place of a Saturn 128, or Lang card, and I must report that it is unreliable. Abouit 40% odf the time, ProDOS 2.4.2 loaded, the rest of the time it wither crashed before finishing launch, or alishtly thereafter.

Am I missing something?!

I installed it in Slot 0, and I had a full bank of normal 48K RAM. The LEDs on the card illuminated, indicating that it was in use, but it still crashed more than half of the time.

Sharing: Nearly NOS Apple ][+

Here are a final photo of my main ][+.

The main system was basically NOS, as it was stored almost unused as an extra system saince 1983 (made in 1982). The Monitor ///+ and its stand match very well, and the Disk ][s have the CP/M Drive A label on s6d1, thanks to macnoyd for finding a drive with that label. (I still need the Softcard Drive A, B C, and D label sheet. If anyone has one, please LMK mas I want to inexpensively reproduce those labels.

System Config:ROM X System, with the first rev ROM X plus text ROM.
