Apple IIe enhanced

Doesn't the 'e' in Apple IIe stand for enhanced?

Well today I got very confused (nothing new here) in a phone conversation with a good friend. He says he got an Apple IIe enhanced. I told him that mentioning it's enhanced doesn't make sense since the e already stands for enhanced. To make a long story short, I found out about the IIenhanced enhanced. Does anyone know the story behind this double enhanced situation? What was Apple thinking?

I mostly use a IIc so I am not into the IIe hardware scene much, although this will change soon.

Sider Pascal Support Disk

Hello, probably a longshot, but does anyone know where to get an image of the Sider support utilities for Pascal?

There is one on Asimov but I believe it is incomplete.  In particular, it only has one file QUIT.CODE, I would think there is more.  Also it didn't work.

Motivation is just to get all the OS partitions working.  I never got my hands on the Pascal stuff back in the day.

PEEK(78) and PEEK(79) in Applesoft BASIC

The Applesoft BASIC Reference says that PEEK(78) and PEEK(79) yield a value from a  "Random-Number Field" but doesn't say how those numbers are generated.  Can anyone tell me how they are generated?  In other words, how random are they?  Thanks.

How to prepare a CF card to work with my CFFA3000

Folks, as another topic about the CFFA3000 just started, I immediately remember that I'm still lacking to get a CF card prepared to work with my CFFA3000 (latest version)

What I've done so far is:

- formatting the card using FAT16   (done using Win 7)

- made it bootable using diskpart     (done using Win 7)

- using ciderpress to copy diskimages to the CF card

Regardless what I'm doing, my card doesn't boot. Is there a good and handy description (not the user manual) what needs to be done for daft people like me ?

I'm using an Apple //e

Did they have to double the price ?? I do not think the parts cost increased that much...
