//c Power Brick Parts

Has anyone ever cracked open one of these bricks to see what's in them if someone needed to repair one? I have a spare one in working condition. I'm thinking about opening it up and seeing what's in there. I imagine at the minimum there is a transformer, diode bridge, and a filter cap (that eventually would probably need to be replaced).

Suncom Party Quiz Controllers

I just bought a set of the Suncom Party Quiz controllers/interface/software. I noticed on the box it says only 2 of the 4 controllers work on the //c. It plugs into the joystick port.

Is the limitation on the number of controllers due to the fact on the //c the port is shared with the mouse?  As opposed to the IIe that had a seperate 9pin port for the mouse? It looks like for the II/II+ it also has the dip style game connector, probably wired in parallel to the 9pin connector that run to the interface box.

Apple /// external drives problem

I have 2 x external floppydrives. If I connect any of them all is fine and they come up as drive 2 and pass tests etc.

If I "chain"-connect either of them I get odd results. One drive comes up as drive 4 and the other one doesn't even come up as drive 2 or 3 in that scenario. Also, when accessing the floppydrive both motors and LEDs starts/lits up.

Anyone who's seen this or similar problems when using more than one external floppydrive?

Thanks!

Original Merlin

Hi, new forum member here. I'm looking to see if anyone can shed some light on which version of Merlin to use on Virtual ][. I'm preparing to buy an Apple //e for real and want to ramp up to programming on it via Virtual ][. I have found several version of the assembler and don't really know how to compare them - they all kind of look the same to me :). I watched this video:

Did IIgs games only come on 3.5"?

Hey Folks,

Now I have a IIgs I was looking around for games. I noticed all the dedicated IIgs games I could easily find were in 800k disk format. Am I correct in thinking all IIgs games were issues in 800k format?

I have a BMOW FloppyEmu on the way, so this issue will be moot, but at the moment I'm limited to 5¼ disks (DuoDisk) so I guess no Apple IIgs games for me :-)
