Questions about Applied Engineering Ramfactor

Hi all.

I’m looking for some technical details regarding the Applied Engineering RamFactor. I recently picked up a board along with its RamCharger module. The card is currently installed in slot 5 of an Apple IIgs ROM 03. I also have an Enhanced IIe available, but I haven’t started testing on that system yet. Slot 5 on the IIgs is configured as YOUR CARD. The board appears to be functional even under these conditions. The RamCharger is currently disconnected, so no tests on that yet.

Odd Laser EX Issue

I recently acquired a Laser 128 EX. It came with the 4.5 ROM, but supposedly 6/6.1 have some improvements for Smartport devices. So I burned a copy of 6 and installed it. Oddly, it completely broke Smartport and 3.5" drives. Thinking maybe this 6 rom was bad since it seems hard to find and may have been a bad dump, I burned a 6.1 (which not a fan of since it boots in 3mhz mode since the EX lacks the NVRAM of the EX2 to remover what default speed should be). 6.1 also wouldnt read my FE in 3.5 or SP hard drive mode. Put the original 4.5 ROM back in, worked fine.

fleXrom from JD Micro

The fleXrom is basically a universal ROM replacement for almost any 2K ROM found in an Apple II computer. Choose between 64 different images and can be configured to replace either a 9316 ROM or 2716 EPROM. Use it to fix a machine with a bad ROM or to change the F8 ROM, Text ROM, Keyboard MAP ROM, etc. See JDMicro for complete details. Available for $29 from MacEffects

DuoDisk drive 2 unresponsive

I have a DuoDisk where drive 1 works perfectly, but drive 2 does not respond. No motor movement, activity LED doesn't even light. If I plug the second drive mechanism into the analog board as if it were drive 1, it works perfectly, so it seems like xomething in the drive-selection logic on the analog board isn't working right.

Is there a likely culprit for this behavior, and how should I start diagnosing?

Here are two 8-INCH disk interface cards developed in the apst for the ITT-2020.

As far as we can read on the EPROM on the final release card, it was developed by NovoComp Datensystems GmBh in Germany.

I have only found the former address of that company:

Novocomp Datensystems GmH,  Walramsneustr 9 ,D - 54290 Trier ,Germany

SSM parallel card info?

I picked up an Apple IIe (early 1984 by the board and chip dates), and it included this card along with a much later 80-column and an age-appropriate Disk II controller. The card came with a 26-pin cable plugged into it with a Centronics connector on the end, so I'm sure it's a parallel printer card. I found a copy of a ROM dump on apple2.org, but no documentation.
