Apple II

Apple II rev. 0 (ventless) added to my collection

I've just acquired a rev. 0 Apple II with a ventless case. The serial number is 92 and it's working with most components still original. I'll post more information and photos once I have it in my hands next week.

Apple IIe Transwarp problem

As you can see from the images, my transwarp is causing corrupt characters on the display. I've tried reseating all the chips, cleaning the contacts, replacing all the ram, swapping cpus with my apple iie(enhanced), and removing all other cards. Any suggestions. Bad rom?

Fixing / connecting a Disk 2 drive

I've got two Disk 2 drives that I'd like to get up and running, but I'm a little unclear as how to proceed.

The problem is that both drives came without cables, so ordered those in ahead of time. I was expecting to hook these up to a Disk 2 controller card. However, the Apple IIe that showed up with these drives has an I/O controller with a different dsub connector. So given that I'm running 5v and 12v through those cables, I'd like to make sure I hook them up correctly.

It's been kind of hard to find a definitive source the explain this, so I'm looking to get some input.

Text reader for Apple IIgs

Hi All, I can not seem to find a basic text reader like SimpleText for the IIgs.

I can't believe there isn't one, could someone point me in the right direction.

Much appreciated.

GREENGATE DS:3

Hi,

after years of searching, i have finally found a nearly complete Greengate DS:3 Synthesizer (missing the keyboard) for the Apple II.

I will make images from the disks and scan the manual, as soon as the card arrives.

Anyone remember this game?

I hope this isn't too off-topic, but I've been trying unsuccessfully for many years to track down a particular Apple ][ game that I remember from 1981. It was my first ever experience on a personal computer and very instrumental in what ultimately became a 16-year-long career as a professional game developer. The game itself was text-based graphics and you flew an airplane delivering mail from airport to airport. The "camera" (for want of a better word) was in front looking back.

Stupid Apple II Plus RFI keyboard headache.

So as posted before. I have a stupid rfi keyboard that has issue. While using it and having the keys get better. The return key stopped working. So I opened it up, cleaned it and put it back together. (Not sure how some of the plastic line up pins broke. But they did. Anyway all the keys worked except once again the return key. So I opened it up again today and stuck it back together. That was even a bigger mistake. Now more keys don't work. So besides the ps2 / apple ii keyboard adaptor. I'm going to get one. What is the best approch or replacement for this keyboard?

Apple III won't boot, pattern on screen

All,

I purchased an Apple III which displays the attached screen rather than booting.

I  tried the following to no avail:

- reseated all chips, including all memory chips

- cleaned up some rust  and  residue wherever I could see on chips (some was around floppy connection; worst looking  was chip 341-0035-00 which, however, seems to be keyboard encoder, so probably not the culprit)

Any ideas how to proceed fixing this machine are welcome.
