IIgs web browser - Arachnid

Does anybody have any experience with, and know where I can download this IIgs browser - Arachnid? I wanted to give it a try so any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

Apple IIgs with Uthernet card and Spectrum (SIS)

Hello all:

I am trying to get my IIgs (with Uther) to work in Spectrum. I have it working just fine with Contiki, HTTP to HFS for downloading disk images, etc.

However, when I try to connect to the Internet with SIS (Spectrum Internet Suite) it tells me there is a problem connecting to the server. I have it set for direct connect, have the TCP/IP stack loaded in the control panel and have the IP address set for the server. Any ideas? Is there a separate Uther driver I need or something to that effect?

Apple II Plus - defective color killer?

I have a II+ (rev 07) and I've found that when I adjust the pot to a more intense signal, the color killer in text mode abruptly fails and I get green/purple bleeding. If I adjust it even higher, the green/purple switches to red/blue.

The color killer only works for very low intensities - hardly bright enough to be usable.

I've tried replacing 74LS259, with no effect. Any ideas on what else I should check?

Does any know the name of this Apple II game?

Hi, I have fond memories of Apple II computers at school and recall playing a game based around an island, hidden treasure and pirates. The player had to move around the island and complete challenges.

I can't remember the name of it and would love to see if it was available on any emulation platforms.

Can anyone help?

IIc external Prairie Pack

I have a Prairie Pack I am trying to get up and running on one of my IIc systems. I was wondering if anyone out there has any manuals, specs or other information to help me get this thing up and, specifically, in finding the correct battery replacement (25 year old battery is obviously dead now).

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated.

Crazy Apple II Printing Question

So I was looking at this Apple II Epson parallel printer card on eBay and noticed that the connector on it is exactly the same as the one on the back of my 10 year old Epson photo 870 printer.

Is there even the remotest chance that the (relatively) new printer could be used with an Apple II!?

Back in the day when Dune BBS was going strong , this was back in the 80's , the board was sold to a guy who I think lived in Cucamunga or Rancho Cucamunga? Ring a bell to anyone that may have lived in that area or remembers this? I think the boards name was changed also , his alias was The Wrench and I think he called it The Repair Shop? Just hoping that this would strike a clue for someone who remembers , you see this guy possibly still has the original Greymater Hard Drive that ran the board . We would like to see if he still has it stored away somewhere....

is it possible?

i have an old Syquest SparQ 1gb external cartridge drive, its a parallel port configuration. Searched the web, but nothing came up, so i'd like to know if anybody here can tell me if i can plug this drive into the parallel port of the //c and use it as an external drive? any help would be appreciated.
