Apple IIGS no longer boots up and goes to purple and green blocks

I was recently trying to fix my 3.5" floppy drive. Plugged it in and the motor ran endlessly. Unplugged it from the IIGS and turned the IIGS back on and now it doesn't even boot.

Boot screen either goes to purple/green OR shows an endless set of question marks "?" OR shows random scrolling gobbly good.

Please help fix as I just got this ROM 01 IIGS and was so excited to get it going. Everything was working so perfectly. Thank you so much.

Apple 3.5" 800k Floppy Drive Eject Mechanism

So, I opened up my Apple IIGS 3.5" 800k floppy disk drive to attempt to fix the eject button. On the first try, I simply unplugged the eject PCB, the motor, and the gears from the rest of the drive, and put it back in. Next time I tried to eject the motor actually turned on, but I never stopped. Uh-oh! Not good - but, at least I know that the motor works. I Opened it up again and looked much closer. I learned that not only was the gear stripped (which I can order replacemnts for).

Apple IIe red light

I recently changed the rifa cap on my old Apple IIe and after putting everything back together my duodisk drive is constantly spinning and has a red light on at all times.

I am pretty new to this, so I am not sure what the issue could be. Before changing the rifa everything worked fine.

Games that stand the test of time - Apple II, II+, IIe, IIc, IIGS

Since the IIGS is backwards-compatible, what are the best retro games that everyone should put on my Floppy Emu that actually stand the test of time.

Unable to use most games/utilities on Floppy Emu - Apple IIGS

Many 3.5" and 5.25" games on my Floppy Emu are getting stuck on a screen (ex: see attachment below), but they are all varying versions of ProDOS 8 and 16. One game, Ancient Art of War (and it's succesor, Ancient Art of War at Sea) instead just show a blank screen. So far, of all 10+ games I've tried, only one has worked, Oregon Trail. No idea why. Can someone please assist? Is it some control panel setting? My startup slot is 5 or 6... I don't remember, and I'm allocating all 8MB of my ram, running on the fast (2.8MHz) config speed. Any ideas?

Help me Fix my Apple II Plus

Hello all,

I have just recently inherited an Apple II+ Plus from my late godfather. I got it working with little trouble, but then the power supply blew up. I bought a replacement for it from ReativeMicro and just installed it. Since installation I seem to be having trouble with getting the Apple II to read disks. Now when turning on the Apple II, it boots and then just stays at the Apple II screen with the drive spinning, I can get it to boot to BASIC by pressing CTRL+RESET. I've tried a new Disk interface board but it didn't change anything.

Help me fix my saved Apple IIe Platinum

Hi everyone!I recently bought an Apple IIe platinum (that was used in a school!), the monitor, and a disk drive from an estate sale. I got it home, plugged it all in and turned it on. The monitor turned on fine, but nothing else. I quickly turned it all off. I then went into a DEEP rabbit hole of YouTube videos, along with finding the Apple II group on FB. I own about 20 original arcade games, so I'm comfortable around voltages, CRTs and electronics, so I decided to dive in. First. No power to main board.
