Blue LED for Sawtooth

So I took off the front control panel from my Sawtooth and want to replace the green LED with a blue one.

After I bought a blue LED I noticed that the original green LED has three wires and the new one only has two.

What is the third wire for? To make it pulse? Can I put the two wire LED on without any problems?

The orginal LED is a Bi-colou

The orginal LED is a Bi-colour led. Green and Orange. The middle is a common cathode and the outer ones are the anodes for the each colour. There should no be a problem with replaceing it with a single colour led expect that you lose the out given by the second colour wihich indicates the system is asleep. Just be sure to note which pin is the anode for the Green led or the blue will not come on when you want it to.

you could wire a second led (

you could wire a second led (red maybe) to the second anode and the common cathode and have a bi colour led equivilent
