Hello members,
id like to use a 2716 EPROM for the F8 autostart on a language card. There are 2 jumper pads marked 2716. I presume the one by the rom should be jumped but what about the other? It would need to be cut if anything but I want to confirm what needs to be done here before I do anything. Thanks
Yes, that's correct: to install a 2KB 2716 EPROM, cut the bowtie pad and bridge the circular pads.
That modification also permits a 4KB 2732 EPROM to be used in the ROM socket. That doesn't offer any functional advantages, but it's worth noting because 2732 EPROMs tend to be easier to obtain and program than 2716. To use a 2732, just fill its memory with 2 copies of the 2716 EPROM.
Thank you for clearing that up. That's how I would figure the pads would need to be modified. I just wanted to confirm before I went with the "I hope this is right" method. Thanks again
