Is reactivemicro.com legitimate? Card payment wouldn't go through. Is this happening to anyone else?

 Hi everyone.

Today I attempted to purchase an assembled REPLICA-1 board from https://reactivemicro.com, as I heard that's the only place that is actively selling them. I had placed an order for one of the fully assembled boards and a power supply for ~$200 USD, and had everything concerning my billing information to be correct. However, the website would not accept my payment method, no matter what I tried to submit it with. I've tried to contact Henry Corbis, but have recieved no response yet. Should I be worried? Is it fraudulent?

Thanks,

Landon

yes legit

I have purchased several things from them over the years, including in recent months, everything works as expected.  I think my last order took 2-3 weeks to arrive.  My guess is Henry will respond in due time, at least he has for me in the past.

I think Henry has to work a "day job" because ReActive Micro being a niche hobbiest busiess for retrocomputing probably it doesn't make enough for him to do it full time.

He's also got a lot of stuff to do because he is helping develop products and even produce products in addition to handling the marketing and selling.

But there is no doubt that ReActive is definitely a legit company.  I have ordered from them several times without problem.

Thanks for the confirmation!

Hi softwarejanitor,

Shortly after I made this post, I emailed Henry directly and confirmed my order had went through, and he responded very quickly...certainly lowered my worries about anything fraud related! Looking forward to recieving my REPLICA-1 board.

Cheers,

Landon

Where do you live?

I only ask because sometimes banks will flag your account if you purchase overseas.  My card wouldn't go through when I bought my AppleSqueezer IIgs.  A quick call to the bank cleared it right up.

I live in Texas. We ended up getting things resolved.
