Dead IIsi

Okay,
I have a IIsi with a fresh battery. The machine was known to have a stable OS on an 80MB drive. When powered on, non ping, just a fan, hard drive spinnning (but not the scratchy 'hey-I-am-reading-something' noise, and the screen shows a solid pale rose color. When a floppy is inserted, no autoeject or reading occurs. It is like the machine just does not want to start. No funny smells from the board that I can sniff.

What diagnostics can I perform? This was a reliable machine for a long time and I would like to save it if I can.

TIA

ROM?

If it has a ROM card, try re-seating or even just removing it, IIRC the IIsi has an onbord ROM as well. If not then make sure you are using a sync-on-green monitor and the correct jumper settings if it's not an Apple one. also, try re-seating the RAM modules.

You are not trying to use a V

You are not trying to use a VGA adapter are you? The IIsi and IIci don't support VGA monitors.

good call

good call. the monitor may just be a VGA. I have the monitor I used to use with it hooked to my server, I will move it back later tonight and see what I get. (may have to steal the PRAM battery back form the LC).

Thanks!
