Hi all! This is my first post! yoohoo!
And so my question: I have an old m0100 mouse with a db9-connector. How can i use that on my pb?
I know the first respons will be "Cant be done" but nothing is impossible, the impossible just cost more... So if noone has a nice link to an adapter I need as many hints and links as possible to figure out hot to make the adapter myself... In other words as much tech on the m0100 as possible!
I hope someone will be helpfull in my quest for vintage controll...

Can't be done.
...just because you were expecting it.
I see two paths you can take: The first would be to build a circuit to translate the 9-pin mouse information to a single ADB bus line then to an ADB to USB adapter, or just to USB. Complicated. I know there are Atari serial mouse to ps/2 adapters that are fairly simple in circuitry, but require a programmable flash chip or eprom to do the work.
The serial mouse isn't really serial, so a serial to USB adapter will not work.
pinouts:
9-pin mouse
ADB pinout
The second option, if you just want the appearance of the old mouse would be to put the guts of an optical mouse into the serial mouse carcass. Cheaper and easier, IMHO.
And welcome to Applefritter, by the way.
Yes, the second option has been done. Google for people who've put optical Pro mice into the old style cases. If you remove the top case of a Pro mouse, then you can make a cut out in the bottom of the M0100 and even get the button to line up and work correctly.

EDIT TWO: I used to love using my A3000 mouse on my A2000. Maybe I should find a spare, dead, Amiga A3000 Pregnant Mouse and hack that into a USB optical mouse... ;p
