within the last months a lot of threads about keyboards and keyswitches.......
i decided to make a general page related to that topic and explain the functions and the different kinds of keyswitches used in various keyboards and basic knowledge how to fix problems and how to replace keyswitches if no repair is possible. The entire page is located at:

Two words... Your amazing...
Too bad for the Datanetics switches you can't disassemble them like the IIe switches. Very interesting read and great pics....

thats not completely true.... true is:
it´s a very bad challenge ! you must cut the case at the collar with very heated razorblade or very hot scalpel and after repair you have to first adjust and fix with very few superglue and afterwards melt / modell again with very hot scalpel.... then you can polish....
I´d do this only if a man threats me with a gun - and if no other solution is availiable....
Tip: very ancient old keyboards from IBM34-terminals and 370 Terminals and some very old telextype Terminals contain keyswitches very similar to those from datanetics....

It's been a while since I met a Datanetics keyswitch that I could not resurrect through flooding with isopropyl alcohol and repeated exercise, though it may take several sessions.

i hope this solves the last issues related to this topic and it remains as a kind of basic reference to everybody who is forced to get into the details or wants to learn about the basics of this topic.....
just by the way.... why not create a forum to collect such kind of basical pages as a kind of reference and collection of help-pages ? it probably might help to save space within the system of AF and avoid redundant threads.... just a idea....
