System Saver Fan

Anyone ever buy a System Saver fan for their Apple IIe, only to find that the plastic on the computer is too thick for the fan assembly to clip over, or am I just trying to put it on wrong. It is like the notches in the fan assembly aren't wide enough to slip over the plastic of the Apple.

Re: System Saver Fan

I've currently got a System Saver hooked up to my //e and it fits perfectly. Is it actually a System Saver you've got or a clone? If it's a clone that might be the problem.

I am not really sure, but I bet it is a clone. You are probably right. Thanks.

I got it, I took a small utility knife and trimmed an ever so small amount off of the plastic tabs. Fits perfectly now. I am pretty sure it is a clone, as it has no brand name on it.

Glad to hear you were able to make it work.

I had this exact problem back in 1980, while my cloned system saver fit if I forced it, I did like you and trimmed it.

Yeah, received a fake one with the Apple II systems that I got last month. Didn't fit easily, whereas the real thing that's on my main //e system fits perfectly.
