I just fired up my Lisa 2 for the first time in 2 years today. Had a bit of trouble with the Profile drive but got it all going.
I was curious if anyone knows where there might be a disk image for Through the Looking Glass? Or any other games released for Apple?
Also - I'm a bit confused.. are Lisa and Mac games interchangeable? Or was there a specific Lisa version of TTLG? Does anyone know of any other significant Lisa games?
The Apple Lisa was intended only to be an office appliance, not a home computer system. Therefore it basically only had productivity-type applications for it that one would use in an office or workplace.
If you want to run Macintosh software on the Lisa, you need to use MacWorks. MacWorks will load a copy of the Macintosh ROM into the Lisa's RAM.
I figured.. but I read somewhere that Through the Looking Glass was produced originally (natively) for the Lisa.. is that incorrect? Did it only run under MacWorks?
As far as I'm aware, Through the Looking Glass was publicly released only for Macintosh, so if one wanted to run it on the Lisa, MacWorks would be necessary. However, not all Macintosh software was compatible with MacWorks on the Lisa, so it is possible that Through the Looking Glass would not run.
