You Guys and Gals are going to just Love This:
I sent the seller an email telling him about the last Pristine, unused IIc to sell on ebay.
Someone is going to want something as perfect as this. A museum consortium or a rich collectard.. someone.. It's just a matter of time.
You know, the smell alone has to be worth $500 alone. It's intoxicating. I remember opening up my new Apple material and quickly putting the bag over my head till I nearly passed out. Reveling in the VOC smell. It was was that good.
Hahaha! It must have been REALLY good! (got a laugh on that one Keatah)
(If you haven't watched 'The Castle', this image is probably nonsense to you)
Yep, killing brain cells sure feels good, don't it? Just ask the millions of great unwashed masses...
Here's a fun one:
It's a IIe+
It has the legendary high reliability Micro-SCI 64K/80column card.
Nice.... A Jerry Manock ][e case with a ][+ lid and a 8538 Mother board that appears to be Enhanced... With a Clone Power Supply...
( The Jerry Manock case was replaced about the 3 Qtr 1984 with the RFI Case )
A really Mis-Match of parts...
"USED AND WORKING IN GOOD CONDITION" he says.....
Good Evening All,
From the pages of eBay come the most expensive units:
Apple II Plus:
Yep. You just gotta Love It! lol
Whats that soot all over it about? Was it dug out of a coal mine?!
When I first saw this listing
It occurred to me that this unit
was in a fire and the soot is from
Oh! Yeah that does make sense.
Glad I have the cheapest II+ on Steven's list I would hate to be mocked here.
I wish someone would have traded for a GS, but since I got no reply on my trade post, so eBaying it to get a GS.
This guy has gota be kidding..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-IIc-Flat-Panel-Display-A2M4022-/322289760649?hash=item4b09f77989:g:0QsAAOSwR5dXRBJI
Another one from down under, where reason is forbidden:
The monitor doesn't even work. And I don't trust the seller to know whether the //c is in 'working order' without it, especially when the 'discs' are included.
Might be the four IPAs I just inhaled.. but.... QAARHAHRHSUGHASUGHASOUGHA;OWUHEGF!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What the f*** is happening (happened?) to this hobby. I paid for an identical //c ensemble with a bonus Imagewriter for less than $200 just a year or two ago, and even then I felt a touch ripped off. I'm flummoxed, outraged, I guess that's the point of this thread.
Trust me, you lot in the states or in the UK, you have no idea how good you've got it. This is beyond commonplace in Australia and New Zealand, where sellers can ask outrageous prices due to the shipping costs from overseas. It bloody kills me. I'm heading to the USA in a month for a work conference and I'm tempted to dedicate a suitcase just for any Apple vintage hardware I can source while I'm there. At these rates, I would make a small fortune.
It's going to sit on my eBay home page for up to a year before the seller finally considers reducing the price - to $495 (postage quote on request, of course).
When I bought my //c I got it for $83! this is the only image of the computer in the listing, that I filmed when i bought it it came with all of original diskettes, power brick, and that was one of the cheapest iic's that sold in 2014.
And then there is This guy..... http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Apple-IIc-computer-monitor-floppy-drive-working/282196529840?_trksid=p2047675.c100011.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D39240%26meid%3Da6c4274b798d49cda2c8e119dd8f0954%26pid%3D100011%26rk%3D1%26rkt%3D2%26sd%3D172352579139
So garbage on the screen is tested and working,
I retired from the military in 1995.
10 years after the introduction of the IIc.
I already had two of them, with Memory up to 1 Meg, External Drives, Monitors, Printers, Mice, and Joy Sticks.
I had software (still do).
I was picking them up for $10.00 to $25.00 each.
That was with the Power Module and accessories in some cases.
I expected prices to increase,
but I never imagined what is happening now.
$1000.00 for a used IIc????
I just don't think so.
There are different levels of diagnostics and functionality.
At least we know the power supply is putting out power.
Stop. I want to get off.
$30 for a severely faded box and non related manuals.......how this stuff gets on ebay I don't know.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Vintage-Apple-Monitor-IIC-Empty-Box-With-Inserts-Manuals-/272297964580?hash=item3f66393424:g:GxoAAOSwD2pXFVK0
That's about what I paid for one a year ago.
Only mine had an actual working monitor inside!
Oh yeah, it also had the stand as well.
And the MOUSE is Missing!!!!
BITD, the ][+/][e Mouse was $149.95 ( US Dollars ), the //c Mouse was $99.95 ( US Dollars )...
A DOS 3.2 Manual for the //c????
A Macintosh Software Manual???
A Macintosh LC Manual???
What a hodgepodge of "stuff"..... What are they thinking... "Look!! Old Apple Stuff.. This stuff is Valuable, let's get it on eBay.."
Now something not laughable http://www.ebay.com/itm/APPLE-II-GS-WITH-PRINTER-3-1-2-AND-5-1-4-DISK-DRIVES-MOUSE-AND-KEYBOARD/311713775886?_trksid=p2047675.c100005.m1851&_trkparms=aid%3D222007%26algo%3DSIC.MBE%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D20131003132420%26meid%3D258882c12dc04df2b56c6ec8a8b6f221%26pid%3D100005%26rk%3D4%26rkt%3D6%26sd%3D142135597699
an AE valcan, zip gs, and.... well just look at the cards, the seller has no clue!
Excellent price for what's included.
But here's one that just does not make sense:
If I can buy an entire II Plus for $125.00 to $145.00,
why am I going to spend $99.95 for just a Keyboard?
It that's true why does this exist? http://www.ebay.com/itm/1979-Apple-II-or-Apple-II-Plus-Revision-4-Motherboard-/222280051302?&_trksid=p2056016.l4276
I wondered that myself when I first saw it.
Steven, if you put a random Apple II Plus on eBay for bid with no accessory's your probably going to get a little more then $110 - $125. Well sell the keyboard and get $125 - $150. I think its laughable to sell the whole thing when you can clearly make more money selling just one component.
Honestly, having sold a few Plus's recently, it kind of annoys me to sell a nice complete system for less then someones broken keyboard.
AU$100 for a //c case complete with scratches, yellowing and a broken front tab. What a bargain...
And you are completely entitled to that opinion.
You better get it before it disappears. lol
Good evening all:
Another insane Seller:
Those Liron cards go for anywhere between $100.00 and $150.00.
$350.00 for three seems consistent with current pricing.
Am I wrong?
I only see Two ASCO Cards.
I don't know what the third one is.
I'm no expert on the original apple ii, but an apple ii rev 4 mother board ONLY does not warrant $400. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Apple-II-Motherboard-Powers-on-see-pics-ships-worldwide-/191984487680?hash=item2cb32acd00:g:v4IAAOSwYIxX2UtS
This is cool, but not $200 cool. http://www.ebay.com/itm/122186528103?ul_noapp=true
A new sealed puzzle should move for 350-400.
The last few Liron cards sold for around 50-90 each. I got one 45 last year.
That's something I did not know, interesting.
All three look like ASCO boards..?
I'm honestly indifferent on the prices of parted out II+ units.
However, the rash of over priced apple //e & //gs units as of late has been completely atrocious!
I mean look at this crap:
I used to think $250 for a complete system (with no upgrades) was too much. Now multiple people are asking $400+ on ragged out, bog standard apple //e units!
Your right, the REV 4 motherboards usually sell for $150-$200. They do sell for more if they have Integer ROM's installed.
Here's another you all will just love:
A "Real" Apple Computer Stock Certificate:
Do you see the name it's under?
" The most brilliant stock invester"?!?!, how the hell did they come up with that name! Btw the apple logo is rainbow, it could not be in 2001.
Btw. Is this laughable or not, http://m.ebay.com/itm/142146054265.
To tell the truth,
I'm not so sure.
The Video Overlay Cards do not come up that often.
I think I can recall two in the last year or so.
Anyone else have some input on this?
Input would be nice, The person that won the auction was me!, a guy got in a bidding war with me at the end but I think it got a somewhat of a good deal, considering it was tested. And it will go perfectly with my AST vision card.
Here is another one from the loonies of ebay :ebc: http://www.ebay.com/itm/APPLE-II-A2S2064-with-printer-/262681153828?&_trksid=p2056016.m2518.l4276
I believe you asked the question after you won, right?
I will say to you what I have said to others:
It is only worth what people are willing to pay for it.
I have said this to both Sellers and Buyers.
Now; to you, was that card worth the price you paid for it?
If it was, then you should be satisfied with your purchase.
I'm wondering, what do you guys think an accelerator card is worth? And is Transwarp or Zip significantly better? Playing with GSport emu on 8MHz accelerated, it sure would be nice to have one in the real machine, but I'm not spending crazy money...
I've seen the Video Overlay cards sell from $250 up to $600 depending on condition, whether it was tested or not, and if it came with the original box/paper work/cables.
