New to Apple //GS. Questions about floppy drives

ROM1 and it comes with a fully populated ram system board. How much memory will be on the board? Seller didn't know for sure.
Floppy drives: I want at least one of each. What should I expect to pay for them? Unable to get any locally and it looks like eBay is the only place I can get a pair.
Also can I install the disk II controller into slot 6 of this machine with my 2 disk 2 floppy drives that I use on my Apple //e?
What else should I be looking for? I would love to get an original monitor for it. Battery replacement will be needed. Suggestions on how to do this? Power supply fixes if needed? Any capacitors need replacing?
I'll have a ton of questions regarding this machine.
Just want to bring it up to date and have it last another 30 years.
Thanks.

There was a similar question here the other day - why don't you take a look at that thread, and come back with additional questions/clarifications you need?

The battery is a 3.6 volt 1/2AA size, if I remember correctly.

You may want to buy a 3.5 Drive off eBay and a 5.25 Drive.

Good luck with it.

Hello Tracer bullet,

you also may use at the beginning the Super serial card as well as the Diskcontroller and drives from the IIe -

BUT YOU HAVE TO PAY ATTENTION:

In that case you must enter the II GS "Option"-Menu [( option)-key at powerup and
then striking after menu appears 1 !] at the beginning and set the slot to the option:
"own card" ,
otherwise the IIGS will ignore the controller and search for floppies connected to the rear Diskport !

Remember also:

As far as the battery is not replaced and therefor
the options are not stored by battery you have to set time , date and options each time again after power up !
Therefor it´s recommended to replace battery as fast as possible !

availiable RAM is also displayed in the option menu at RAM disk setup !

Thereafter you may proceed with ADT ....

sincerely speedyG

Question. What should I expect to pay for the 3.5 & 5.25 floppy drives? $50 for a 3.5 and $100 for both I've seen. Any idea what to expect?

Question. What should I expect to pay [...]

It all depends on how long you're willing to wait. If you need them RIGHT NOW, you'll pay $100 for the pair. If you're willing to bide your time and watch for deals, you should be able to get each for $10 or less. If you get lucky, uncle Louie have them in his closet and he'll give them to you for free.

I'm reminded of a quote from Mad Max... 'Like the sign says, "speed's just a question of money. How fast you wanna go?"'

Or as they say where I come from, "Haste makes waste."

There were literally hundreds of thousands of these disk drives manufactured. Many of them still exist. They are not rare. They are not especially valuable.

(Actually, there were probably more disk drives manufactured than Apple II systems. Every user had one. And nearly every user had more than one.)
