I have a blue and white G3, Ive installed MacOS X 10.3 server on it, Installed a belkin pci wireless card.. works with the airport drivers, basically this is what I want to do..
I have 2 machines that need to get internet via airport and 3 machines that need to get internet via ethernet. Basically I need to know how to set up NAT in OS X Server, I want this machine to function as a Wifi Access Point and wired router..
Cable Modem-- Connected to Onboard Ethernet
PCI 10/100 Card- Connected to Hub
Airport Card..
I want the PCI NIC to route internet to the wired devices and I want the Airport card to route the internet to the wireless devices..
It's easier to do than you think. Just go into Sys Prefs/Sharing/Internet. Select the internet line in "Share from". Then put a check next to the other interfaces you want to have access from in "To computers using." I've got my mini sharing it's WiFi to the internet router to machines I plug into the mini's ethernet port. It's super easy.
I was using the server edition of MacOS X panther.. I guess until I figure out NAT on Panther server ill use the regular panther... I Installed panther and turned on internet sharing.., My wired ethernet devices can access it just fine.. however when i try to connect wirelessly from my mini it says there was an error joining the airport network
I said to heck with it and went to walmart and bought a cheap 39 dollar router and it works just fine.. the blue and white is gonna run panther server to host netboot images
