Couldn't remember any passwords for here or the 68kmla, so I've updated my username to reflect the acquisition of my first new computer since the G-4 466 Digital Audio. Running the newest incarnation of mozilla on an XP NetBook ain't too bad at all. Luckily it came bundled w/Microsoft Works, which I've used even longer than ClarisWorks! Figuring out XP will be interesting since my windows experience topped out at '98 on a 486 way back when.
This is a REALLY nice Duo replacement, keyboard only slightly smaller w/better key action, a 10.1" LCD w/OODLES more pixels by comparison! The whole Targus carry bag w/mouse/pad, spiral notebook, pen, pencil and reading glasses/case tips the scales at only 4.125 lbs!
The 2-3 hour battery life puts "Beater's" (my old 1400c/G3 WiFi companion)20 minute usable life to shame.
I'm still only a WiFi vagabond, but the payback time for this rig & accessories versus a high speed home connection won't be all that long. This setup even gets me out and about in the great outdoors! Sometimes I can even mooch a connection from a neighbor while I'm at home!
If one of you 'fritter denizens are active at the 68kmla, please email one of the mods there to get off the stick & validate my registration there, I've been waiting 4 days so far... ~:-P
I've missed you folks,

If only there was somebody here who had the ability to reset passwords.
Welcome back!
Nice to see you back! You've been missed.
You should enjoy the HP mini immensely. Are the HPs all hard-drive equipped?
I've got an eeepc 901HA - one of the models with a real hard drive, not solid-state - and it's a hoot. I've got 160GB to play with, so I've got XP, eeebuntu (an Ubuntu derivative for the eeepc) and OS X installed. OS X is unfortunately crippled, currently lacking access to the eeepc's ethernet and wifi, but it's got great "because I could" value.
My real Mac is currently a MDD G4, though I've still got a handful of other G4s, G3s and just two or three 68Ks around.
How many of us techies are going multi-boot on out netbooks? I'm Running 4 OSs and the OEM recovery on my Aspire One. I'm a tad surprised so many techies I know of went either to an Apple laptop or a netbook.
Trash80, you have a certain breadth of knowledge we have been missing around these parts for a while.
It's really good to be back, I've missed you folks quite a lot!

I wonder if there just might be anyone around here who could tweak my date of membership & post/story count to reflect the the activities -not to say contributions- of my previous incarnation here on 'fritter?
jt ;-D
It would be easier to just reset the password on your old account.
That'd be GREAT if you can do it at the same time you reset my old password, otherwise I'm content w/my new status as a lowly noob.

Welcome back, Trash! Wow, this thread is a serious convention of old-timers. You guys make me laugh...
HEH! Watch it you young whipper snapper!
I wonder if they'd let me post the ole' PogoHamsters TM avatar? None I've seen here so far have been animated!

Hi, Just to say welcome back.
I've read some of your old posts regarding the prototype PowerExpress motherboards. Not sure if you've been following then new thread: http://www.applefritter.com/node/23597
Do you happen to still have your PEX or was it sold?
Thanks, it's GREAT to be back with the gang here and at the MLA!
I just got back online, literally AND figuratively, in terms of my life. BLEH!!!
Would a bear eat the Pope in the woods?
