I have a Belkin "Handheld Adapter" for USB. It converts a USB signal to a PC serial port. I found drivers on Belkin's site, but for Mac OS 8-9.x. Is there a driver out there that can make this work with X? I specifically want to use it with a GPS system. Thanks!

I know there is an os x beta driver because I have used mine in OS X but then finally gave up because it doesn't work in 10.3 and went and bought a Keyspan because it officially worked in OS X. I suggest you get the keyspan High-Speed serial adapter.
